Dawn Cassar

Dawn is a mental health and addictions counselor and trauma specialist with over 15 years of counseling and training experience in education and non-profit environments.  She is a recipient of the 1993 Distinguished Performance Award in Counseling from Long Island University.  She holds a Masters in counseling, a Professional Diploma in trauma, an BS in education as well as a certificate in alcohol and substance abuse.  

Currently, Dawn is involved in clinical supervision and training for the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. She attended and completed the New York State Department of Health AIDS Training Program.  She has completed the American Academy of Bereavement, Advanced Bereavement Facilitator Certificate Award Program.

Aside from her private practice as a therapist, Dawn is a mental health counselor, educator, and relief coordinator for a group of agencies that assist, plan and coordinate relief for victims of disasters.

Dawn is a member of the following organization: American Counseling Association, American Mental Health Counselors Association, Association for Spiritual, Ethical, and Religious Values in Counseling, International Association of Marriage and Family Counselors.
